I’m so excited to share the second entry in my local wedding venue series! Today, we’re taking a little trip to downtown Troy to explore one of my favorite historic spots to photograph—The Emporium. If you’re a bride looking for a venue with charm, character, and lots of photo-ready corners, this one might be calling your name.
The Emporium sits right in the heart of Troy, and the moment you step inside, you can feel its history. The tall ceilings, old brick walls, and warm wooden details make the space feel timeless in the best way. As a photographer, I love places that already have a story to tell, and The Emporium does that before you even decorate a single thing.

One of the biggest reasons I adore this venue is the variety of photography spots you get all in one place. Inside, you have beautiful window light that just begs for soft, romantic portraits. The exposed brick gives every photo a little extra texture, which always photographs so well. And if you want something more elegant, the open event space can be dressed up to match any style- from classic to modern to rustic chic.
Step outside, and you’ll find even more places to explore. The downtown streets around The Emporium make the perfect backdrop for those “just married” strolls. The old storefronts, charming sidewalks, and little pops of color throughout the area give you endless options for bride and groom portraits. It’s the kind of location where you can take a quick walk and collect a whole gallery of different looks without ever leaving the block.

From a photographer’s viewpoint, The Emporium is one of those venues that simply makes my job easier. The light is beautiful, the character is unmatched, and the space transforms wonderfully to fit each couple’s personality. If you’re dreaming of a wedding day filled with warmth, history, and photos that feel both classic and fun, this is a spot worth touring.
I can’t wait to keep sharing more local venue favorites with you; there are so many gems in our area, and I love helping you find the perfect place to say “I do.” Think you’ve found your venue, and ready to talk photography? Reach out to me here!
